Japan unveil national teams for CWC 2015

On the final day of the Japan Cup 2015, held at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo on the 28-30 August, the Japan Cheerleading Association unveiled the Cheerleading national teams that will represent Japan at the upcoming 8th Cheerleading World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

Japan will participate in Cheerleading Mixed, Cheerleading All Female, Cheerleading Small Groups All Female, Cheerleading Doubles and Cheerleading Junior.

The 2015 Cheerleading Mixed team features 6 members that were part of the gold medal winning team at the 7th Cheerleading World Championships 2013 in Bangkok.

In Cheerleading All Female, Japan remains undefeated since the 1st Cheerleading World Championships in 2001 and is hot favourite to retain the title in Berlin. The 2015 team includes 5 athletes from the 2013 gold winning team.

Japan is also the current reigning world champion in Cheerleading Small Groups All Female.

Coaches for the national teams are Hideshi Tomita, Tomoyuki Kakita and Kana Iwano.
