European Teams to Join 4th Asian-Thailand Cheerleading Invitational 2012

While the Asian-Thailand Cheerleading Invitational (ATCI) is traditionally an invitational event for members of the Asian Federation of Cheerleading (AFC), 2012 sees the ATCI broaden its scope with teams from Europe set to participate for the first time.

The expansion of the ATCI 2012 comes on the back of the recent announcement that Thailand has been selected as the host of the 7th Cheerleading World Championships 2013 in Bangkok on the 23rd & 24th November 2013. The Local Organising Committee quickly identified the ATCI 2012 as an opportunity to launch a publicity campaign and prepare for the upcoming 2013 World Championships.
From Europe, National federations in Russia and Germany were also quick to realise the benefits.

“Our main intention is to support the Thai federation in marketing the international dimension of Cheerleading one year ahead of the CWC 2013 and also allow our own national team better preparation with regards to next year.  Furthermore, our athletes are excited by the opportunity to visit Thailand and learn more about the culture,” said Robert Huber, President of the German federation.

The 4th Asian-Thailand Cheerleading Invitational 2012 will be held on 29th & 30th September at SPORTS HALL, The Mall Bangkapi, Bangkok.

Germany and Russia are expected to join teams and delegates from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
