Established on the 5th July 1998, the International Federation of Cheerleading (IFC) is a non-profit federation based in Tokyo, Japan and is the world governing body of cheerleading. 

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of IFC are to promote the sport of cheerleading worldwide, to spread knowledge of cheerleading and to develop friendly sporting relations among the member associations/federations.

ACTIVITIES
IFC undertakes and administers the following activities to attain the objectives mentioned above;
  • To promote cheerleading activities globally.
  • To hold, authorize, cooperate with, and co-host world/international championships.
  • To determinate competition and safety rules.
  • To approve and increase the number of international judges.
  • To develop coaching systems and increase the number of international coaches.
  • To organize cheerleading clinics and lectures based on international rules.
  • To present information and assist research on cheerleading.
  • To edit and publish books, auditory tapes, films, and the like.
  • To allow companies, individuals and other associations to contribute to or support IFC.
  • To undertake other necessary activities to attain IFC’s purpose.
